Materials: |
heavy duty zip bag, hair gel, duct tape |
Directions: |
Fill the zip bag with several tablespoons of hair gel. Squeeze out the air and zip shut. Tape the top with duct tape. Children take their finger and trace letters, numerals, words, etc. on the squishy bag. |

Add glitter to the hair gel. Make a squishy bag with 1 Tb. paint and 2 Tb. white school glue. Tape the bag to a lunchroom tray. Let children make individual squishy bags with pudding. |

clear acetate folders, play dough, paper, markers |
Directions: |
Make play dough using the recipe below. Draw lines, curves, shapes, letters, etc. on the paper and insert in the folder. Children take the play dough and roll to make shapes. Next, they use the play dough to trace over the lines on top of the folder. |

Ask children to make objects that begin with a particular sound.
Play Dough
1 cup salt 2 cups water
2 cups flour 2 Tb. cream of tartar
2 Tb. vegetable oil food coloring
Mix all ingredients together until smooth. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until a ball forms and sticks to the spoon. Cool, knead, and store in a zip bag. |
Hint! |
Substitute massage oil for vegetable oil to make “aroma therapy” dough.
Use unsweetened Kool-aid for color and fragrance.
Omit food coloring and knead dough in cocoa to make “chocolate dough.”
Draw shapes, numerals, and letters on clear plastic plates with a permanent marker. Children roll play dough and reproduce the shapes. |
