Popsicle Stick Book - You will have a room full of authors when you make these delightful books for your class. Fold 2 sheets of paper in half. Cut in half. Fold these in half. Hole punch about 1 ½" from each end. Insert a rubber band through one hole. Slide the popsicle stick through that loop. Insert the other end of the rubber band through the other hole and slide the other end of the popsicle stick through that loop to make a binding for your book.

Hint! Simply fold the paper in half to make a larger book.

Here are some other bindings you can use to make these books:

  • Make a nature journal with a real stick.
  • Use a candy cane for a “sweet” book.
  • A cinnamon stick would be great for the adventures of the gingerbread boy.
  • How about a toothbrush for dental health week?
  • Make a monthly vocabulary book with a seasonal pencil.
  • A crayon is perfect for a color book.
  • String beads on a wooden skewer for a math book.
  • Use a plastic fork or wooden spoon for a recipe book.
  • Turn sideways, cut up the middle, and use for flipping and matching.
