Keep on Learning!
May, 2016

It’s springtime and we have a special video called “It's All Good” for you to start your day.

I know how hard you and your students have worked this year, so this month you’ll find activities so children can keep learning over the summer months with their parents.

Education is a partnership between the teacher, parents, and children.  All parents want their child to do well in school, but they don’t always know what to do.  These activities will demonstrate once again that “learning” does not come in a kit or on an electronic device.  The things that children need and want most from us – TIME, LOVE, ATTENTION - are free!  These ideas will not only reinforce skills over the summer, but they will also encourage parents to spend quality time with their children.  What a win-win project!

You’ll find sample activities, as well as different suggestions for making them easy to use.  Be sure to include outings to your public library or other special events in your community.

You may download a pdf with twenty-three writing prompts by clicking here. Carolyn Kisloski and I compiled this for you and your students.

We hope that you find the prompts valuable and that you use them to help your students to become better writers.
