Letter Tin

This idea came from Alice Becket in Bellmawr, NY.

She has created letter tins for each of her students (You could just make a few of these for small group work or individual skill instruction.)

On the inside cover she made three lines with a permanent marker. The children take out their letters and arrange them in alphabetical order. As Alice calls out sounds the children select the appropriate letters and place them on the lines.

Just think of all the word play games you could do with the letter tins!

For younger children you could have a matching game where they matched up letters similar to the one shown.

For older students you could have more lines and use these for spelling, etc.
