"Thanks for Teachers!" Thanks for visiting my website, and thanks for teachers like you all over the world who TRY every day to make a difference in children’s lives! I am constantly touched by the teachers that I meet and the ideas that you share with me. In spite of standards and assessment, teaching still begins in the heart and is about passion and love. Nick Glatzer, a first grade teacher in Campbell, Ohio, shared how he starts each day in his classroom. Nick says, “Boys and girls, what is my job today?” The children reply, “Your job is to love us.” Then Nick says, “And what is your job today?” The children respond, “Our job is to love each other.” You know you’re going to have a good day when you connect in this special way! I’m Thankful I’m a Teacher! When I am introduced as a teacher, I generally hear a very flat, “Oh.” I have never been certain whether that is an expression of sympathy, pity, or disinterest. Always I wish I had time to explain to them like this: |
