  WHAT?	cardboard, markers
  
  HOW?		Cut out 30 cars from cardboard using the attached pattern. 
		Write a letter (word, math fact) on each car.  On four cars 
write the word “crash.”  Mix up the cars and place them face 
down on the floor or table.  One at a time, children draw a 
car and identify the information on it.  They may keep the car 
if they are correct.  If they pick “Crash,” they must return their 
other cars to the bottom of the pile. Be sure to click Downloads in the menu to the left for a printable pattern.

          Why?		phonics; math concepts; science or social studies review 
          
          What?		index cards, hole punch, golf tee, highlighter
          
          How?		Write math facts on the front of the index card.  Punch 3 holes
          at the bottom and write a possible answer by each hole. 
          Turn the card over and make a circle around the hole of the 
          correct answer.  Children take a golf tee and stick it in the 
          hole by their guess.  Then they turn it over and self check.
