Five Little Hot Dogs  (“Just for Fun” CD) -

Five little hotdogs frying in the pan.  
The grease got hot, and one went BAM! 
Four little hotdogs…   
Three…       
Two…         
One…     
No little hotdogs frying in the pan.
The pan got hot and it went BAM!

(Hold up five fingers.)
(Clap.)
(Four fingers.)
(Three fingers.)
(Two fingers.)

Activities:  *Use the pattern on the attached page to make a visual. (Click here to download)  Cut hotdogs out of paper and glue them to spring clothespins.  Draw a pan similar to the one shown on a file folder and make a slit down the middle of the pan.  Attach the hotdogs and remove one at a time as you sing the song.  When the pan goes “Bam!” close the file folder.

Five Little Crabs  (“Totally Math” CD)

Five little crabs went out to play 
On the beach on a sunny day. 

A wave came crashing toward the land 
And one little crab hid under the sand. 

Four…three…two…one…

No little crabs went out to play 
On the beach on a sunny day.
The mother crab said, “Come hold my hand!” 
And five little crabs came out of the sand.

All the little crabs scurried on their way 
Home from the beach at the end of the day.
The sun went down and the bright moon shone
And all the little crabs were safe at home. 



(Hold up 5 fingers.)
(Open and shut fingers like sunshine.)
(Roll hands around.)
(Put 1 finger under palm of other hand.)


(Make “zero” with thumb and index finger.)
(Cup hands around mouth.)
(Hold up 5 fingers.)

(Wiggle 5 fingers behind back.)


(Lay head on palms and close eyes.)
Five Little Crabs

Activities: Choose five children to be little crabs and one to be the mother crab. Have children act out the song by walking backwards on their hands and feet like crabs.

*Color and cut out the crabs on the attachment.(Click here to download) Tape to craft sticks to make puppets. Pass out crab puppets to five children. Let one at a time “hide” in the corner of the room as the song is sung.

Five Little Monkeys  (“Totally Math” CD)

Five little monkeys jumping on the bed.
One fell off and broke her head.
Momma called the doctor, and the doctor said, 
“That’s what you get for jumping on the bed.” 
Four…three…two…one…

No little monkeys jumping on the bed.
They’re all sick with broken heads!   

 

(Hold up 5 fingers.)
(Touch palm to head.)
(Hold hand to ear.)
(Point finger.)


(Shake head “no.”)
(Hold palms up in the air.)

Say the rhyme using a different number of monkeys. For example: “Ten little monkeys jumping on the bed.”
