Writing
Giant Rainbow Letters -
I'm sure you've all had children make a letter, or write a word, and trace around it with different colors.
It's a "clever
way" to make repetition more fun.
One teacher said that he writes
enormous letters on a sheet of bulletin board paper and tapes them to the
wall.
Children enjoy taking markers and seeing how many colors they can
add to the giant letter.
Words and Age -
To encourage children to write longer sentences, explain
that they should use as many words in their sentence as they are in age.
For example, if you're six, then your sentences should have at least six
words; seven - seven words, etc.
