CARROT HOT RODS

You will need:

carrots
celery
toothpicks

Directions:

1. Wash your hands.
2. Cut the carrot into diagonal slices 1/2" thick.
3. Cut the celery into 3" pieces.
4. Stick a toothpick through each end of the celery.
5. Take 4 carrot slices and stick them on the ends of the toothpicks to make wheels.
6. Zooooommmm!

TWO BABIES IN A BED

You will need:

hot dog
slice of cheese
bread

Directions:

1. Cook the hot dog in the microwave.
2. Slice it in half lengthwise. (These are the two babies).
3. Place the "babies" on the bread (bed).
4. Cover the bottom of the hotdogs with a slice of cheese (blanket) so it looks like "two babies in a bed."
5. Broil until the cheese melts.

SMILES

You will need:

red apples
peanut butter
miniature marshmallows

Directions:

1. Wash your hands.
2. Cut the apple into 8 slices.
3. Remove the seeds and core.
4. Spread peanut butter on one slice.
5. Put 4 marshmallows on top of the peanut butter.
6. Place another apple slice on top.
7. Smile and enjoy!

Hint! You can also make a "lady bug salad." Cut an apple in half and core one piece. Spread on peanut butter, then dot with raisins.

TEDDY BEAR SANDWICH

You will need:

slice of cheese
1 slice of bread
teddy bear cookie cutter

Directions:

1. Wash your hands.
2. Cut a teddy bear out of the cheese
3. Place the cheese teddy bear on the bread.

Hint! You can take half a slice of bread and make a blanket to put on your teddy bear.

ICE CREAM IN A BAG

You will need:

1 gallon size heavy duty zip bag
1 sandwich size heavy duty zip bag
1 cup whole milk
1 heaping teaspoon of sugar
1 squirt chocolate or strawberry syrup
2 handfuls of ice
1 tablespoon rock salt

Directions:

1. Wash your hands.
2. Pour the milk, sugar, and chocolate in the sandwich bag and zip.
3. Place that bag in the larger bag, then fill with ice.
4. Sprinkle on the salt and zip shut.
5. Throw the bag up and down for about 10 minutes until it starts to harden.
6. Yum! We all scream for ice cream!

Hint! Wear mittens or gloves to keep your hands warm.

You can also make homemade ice cream with a small and large coffee can. Fill the smaller can with the ice cream mixture. Place it in the larger can and pack with ice and salt. Children can "kick the can" until it freezes.

FIRE CRACKER SANDWICH

You will need:

slice of bread
peanut butter, jelly, tuna fish, or pimento cheese
plastic wrap
curling ribbon

Directions:

1. Wash your hands
2. Cut the crust off your bread
3. Flatten the bread with the palm of your hand.
4. Spread peanut butter, tuna, or pimento cheese on the bread.
5. Roll it up.
6. Wrap it in plastic wrap.
7. Twist the ends, and then tie with ribbons to resemble a firecracker.
