Bottles of Fun!

BEACH BOTTLE
Pour 1 cup sand in a bottle. Add small shells or a little fish made from a balloon or Styrofoam. Fill 2/3 with water And add a drop of blue food coloring and a little glitter.

JEEPERS PEEPERS
Put hair gel in a bottle. Add some wiggle eyes.
Jeepers! Peepers!

TORNADO BOTTLE
Fill a bottle almost to the top with water. Add a tiny drop of detergent, one drop of food coloring, a Monopoly house and red Barbie doll shoes. Twirl in your hand to create a twister in the bottle.
MAGIC BOTTLE
Fill a bottle with water. Add several drops of food coloring. Sprinkle in a little "Pearl Powder." (You can find this at craft stores near the soap making ingredients.)
It is absolutely "magical" when you turn it around.
DOES IT FIT?
Provide children with a collection of common objects of different sizes, such as a crayon, book, block, paper clip, etc. Let them predict if each object will fit in the bottle, then test out their predictions.
GLOW IN THE DARK
Put glow in the dark stars or other objects that glow in the bottle. Fill with water.
Dim the lights and observe.

FOUNTAIN BOTTLE
Poke holes in the sides of a bottle with a nail. Dip the bottle in a tub of water to fill it, then hold it above the tub and observe the fountain. Next, fill the bottle with water and glue the lid on.
What happens when you hold it over the tub? Why?

BUGS AND SPIDERS
Fill a bottle 2/3 full with dirt. Add small plastic insects, spiders, worms, etc. Have children look for the objects in the dirt. Count how many of each they can find.
