GLITTER BOTTLE
Put 2 tsp. of glitter or sequins in the bottle and fill
with water. Add food coloring if desired. |
CONCEPT BOTTLE
Fill a bottle with objects
of like color, shape,
beginning sound, etc.

PICTURE! PICTURE!
Cut children's pictures from photographs. Roll to fit
in the bottle. (Add the teacher's and principal's picture
just for fun.) |
CAN YOU FIND?
Put small toys, trinkets, or odds and ends in a bottle.
Fill full with sand, salt, rice, or shredded paper. Children
can name, draw, or write the objects they find! |
"DIRT"Y BOTTLE
Put one or two spoonfuls of dirt in a bottle. Fill half
way with water. Shake, then observe as it settles.
*Collect dirt sample from different states. |

MYSTERY SOUND
Put rice, beans, water, etc. in a bottle and insert
bottle in a sock.
Children shake and and try to determine the contents.

STORY BOTTLE
Children look at the objects in the bottle and make
up a story integrating the items.
*Pass around for a group story, or have children write
a story using the objects. **How about a book report
in a bottle?

SMELL AND TELL
Poke holes in a bottle or use a sport bottle. Fill with
potpourri. (Put cooking extracts or other aromas on cotton
balls and put in bottles.) |
MATH BOTTLE
Put 1, 2, or 3 dice in a bottle. Add a little glitter,
a drop of food coloring, and water. Children shake and
add, multiply, etc. |

FINGER FUN
Put pompoms or other items children have to extract
using their small motor skills.
*Have children sort, count graph, or make a pattern with
the objects.
