Poems for Fall

AUTUMN LEAVES
The leaves are falling
Down, down, down.
Red and yellow
Orange and brown.
The leaves are falling
All around.
When I walk through
I munch the ground.

THE APPLE TREE
Way up high in the apple tree
Two little apples smiled down at me.
I shook that tree as hard as I could,
And down came the apples,
Mmmm, mmmm, good!
THIS IS JACK
This is Jack O' Happy.
This is Jack O' Sad.
This is Jack O' Spooky.
And this is Jack O' Mad.
This is Jack in pieces small.
But in a pie he's best of all!
HALLOWEEN NIGHT!
(Tune: "I'm a Little Teapot")
Halloween is coming
When we'll be
Dressed in funny clothes
And then we'll see
Pumpkins in the window
Shining bright.
Oh, we'll have a good time
On Halloween night!
WITCH'S STEW
Sizzle, sizzle, crackle, pop!
Stir it in the witch's pot.
Bones, stones, frog eyes, too,
Add worms and gizzards to the stew.
Sizzle, sizzle, what a treat.
Stir and mix and then we'll eat!
GRAY SQUIRREL
Gray squirrel, gray squirrel.
Swish your bushy tail.
Gray squirrel, gray squirrel,
Swish your bushy tail.
Wrinkle up your little nose.
Hide a nut between your toes.
Gray squirrel, gray squirrel,
Swish your bushy tail.
GOBBLE! GOBBLE!
He is big and fat
And he gobble, gobble, gobbles.
He spreads his tail
And he wobble, wobble, wobbles.
But when Thanksgiving Day is here,
Then it's our turn to
GOBBLE, GOBBLE, GOBBLE!
MR. TURKEY
Gobble, gobble!
Who is that?
Mr. Turkey,
Big and fat!
Gobble, gobble!
Run away!
For it's soon
Thanksgiving Day!
SCARECROW
Scarecrow, scarecrow,
Turn around.
Scarecrow, scarecrow,
Touch the ground.
Scarecrow, scarecrow,
Wave in the breeze.
Scarecrow, scarecrow,
Touch your knees.
Scarecrow, scarecrow,
Touch your nose.
Scarecrow, scarecrow,
Touch your toes.
Scarecrow, scarecrow,
Jump up and down.
Then sit down quietly
Without a sound.
